[style=padding: 15px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7.5pt;]TEAM ROCKET - As of right now, Team Rocket controls the Kanto Region, but they're getting ready to expand into the Johto Region. Their main base is located in the old Silph Co. building in Saffron City. Most Rockets are paired together and sent out to patrol the region, looking for anyone breaking the law. They're typically ruthless and cold-hearted, as one would have to be to take away the pokemon of another trainer. Rocket members can range from any age, though are mostly older teenagers and adults. Team Rocket also has several ranks, the stronger you are, the higher ranked you become. All Rockets have trainer licenses and are able to battle with their pokemon (regarldess of whether they are in Kanto or Johto). Younger or more inexperienced Rockets may be given their pokemon, but may not actually own them.
A list of ranks and open positions can be found here.
FOLLOWERS - Followers are those who either believe in what Team Rocket is doing, or are people who just don't care but want to avoid all trouble. Followers can range from being very cold-hearted, like the Rockets, to simply uncaring. They are typically regular citizens; they can have pokemon, however, few of them actually use pokemon for anything other than companions. Very few followers actually have trainers licenses (otherwise they would be considered trainers). Followers can live in either Johto or Kanto.
TRAINERS - These are legal trainers - they live in the Johto Region, as pokemon training is illegal in Kanto. Though the pokemon league system became obsolete when the Kanto Region fell to Team Rocket, they still train their pokemon in order to become strong. Trainers can fight against Team Rocket, however, they are not considered part of the Resistance as they are legal trainers, therefore can fight against the Rockets without getting in trouble (mostly because Team Rocket isn't exactly welcome in the Johto Region). Most trainers are fighting to keep Team Rocket from taking over the Johto Region in the same way that they took over Kanto. Most trainers are teenagers, though there definitely are older trainers. Most trainers retire when they settle down and start a family. Most keep their pokemon as companions at that time, however, or pass them down to their children.
THE RESISTANCE - The Resistance is a group of Kanto civilians fighting against Team Rocket. Because they are from Kanto, where pokemon training is illegal, none of them have licenses, therefore, any member of the resistance caught battling their pokemon will go to jail for it. The Resistance mostly train their pokemon underground away from the eye of society. They are fighting, like the legal trainers in the Johto Region, to defeat Team Rocket and send them packing. Like Team Rocket, the Resistance is a tight-knit group, and they do have ranks, and open positions can be found here.
