Ashley looks like the most innocent of girls, what with blonde hair that looks like spun gold, cropped in a pixie cut and framing her wide, innocent looking blue eyes. But please, don't get deceived by her small size and innocent facade. She uses every single ounce of that innocent look she was born with to lie and cheat her way to the top, lulling people in to a false sense of security to gain her heart's desire. She is willing to do anything, anything at all to get it, even if it means seducing you or killing you.

Eighteen years ago, a pair of twins were brought squalling and crying in to the world. Both identical in blonde hair and blue eyes, the only difference that one was a girl, the other a young boy. Their parents were overjoyed, but being the CEO of Goldenrod Departmental Store, you're bound to have some enemies. And this enemies decided to take revenge on him by kidnapping his newborn twins. Except their kidnapping attempt foiled, and due to them accidentally slipping up and letting the household know of their presence, they only got away with one, the young girl named Ashley.
Ashley was eventually dumped at a small town's orphanage, where she was born and raised as a child without her parents. Because the orphanage had its fair share of children, Ashley was never given special attention, just treated as the rest of the kids, and while she could have gotten used to it, she didn't. She hated it when the older kids undermined her, when the others forced her to give up her favorite toy from the box, or when she had to share a slice of her birthday cake with three other girls. As such, as Ashley grew older, she also grew more wise in the wiles of being a girl, and by the time she was five, she was well on her way of knowing how to use her wide blue eyes and blonde hair she had been gifted with to her advantage. Many a time, she's managed to get what she wanted, merely because the caretakers of the orphanage were so taken by her glossy blue eyes, they deduced that Ashley could do no wrong.
By the time she was ten, she quickly decided she was going to take her journey, and left the orphanage as soon as possible. Adopting the name Martineau from one of her favorite, lesser known musical composers, she began her Pokemon journey. It wasn't long after she arrived at Kanto however, when the Team Rocket takeover began, and seeing an advantage available in joining up with the team, Ashley quickly did just that. She was smart, a brilliant strategist and a conniving actress who worked her way up to be a Rocket Executive, and she enjoys life right there. While Ashley isn't opposed to getting an even higher position in the team, she's not at all complaining about her current position either, simply because she was given the freedom to travel as she wanted while she remained just an executive.
