HISTORY Hiro grew up in Cianwood City, away from the mainland and close to the Safari Zone. Her mother ran a shop by the Safari Zone, while her father was a sailor who worked mainly in Olivine, but it was always a real treat for him to work on a boat and travel to different harbors. Hiro also had an older brother who became a trainer, but was rarely ever at home. While Hiro's mother worked, the family Tyranitar, Gira, was in charge of babysitting and protecting Hiro at home. Note that she was already about middle-aged by the time Hiro started her journey around Johto, meaning now Gira is now a grumpy old lady. Though irritable and serious, Gira was responsible and did whatever she could to make sure Hiro was safe and happy.
As a kid, Hiro idolized her brother and wanted to do exactly what he did- become a Pokemon trainer. However, the first Pokemon that she ever actually caught by herself was a little Magikarp which she named Levi. Of course, this meant it took quite some time for the poor thing to evolve into a massive Gyarados, but when he finally did, it was well worth the effort it took to train him. At last, she could leave Cianwood and start a journey of her own. And so she left, travelling all over Johto to meet new people and Pokemon, fighting Gym Leaders and training to become the best that she could be. In Blackthorn City, she captured Kair, knowing full well what he could become once he evolved.
Hiro spent her years as a trainer exploring and re-visiting different regions, taking her time with each one. At the time that Hiro first visited Kanto, it wasn't run by Team Rocket yet. When the takeover happened, she was busy training in the Hoenn region. When Hiro finally returned home to Johto, she heard the bad news and decided to give the poor Kanto trainers a hand- of course, hearing that her beloved brother had joined Team Rocket might have had a little something to do with her desicion. She dropped off many of the Pokemon she captured in other regions with a family member way in the Sinnoh region to ensure their safety, taking only her three oldest friends.
