OTHER INFORMATION --- Iris is generally easy-going. She's not hard to get along with, and when someone begins a conversation with her, she usually has lots to add. She's very scholarly, and enjoys conversations with an apparent pursuit of knowledge. More often than not, she will tend to use big words, but knows her limit. She will pause and try lowering her vocabulary to prevent from sounding too pompous or obnoxious.
Being a reporter, one of Iris’s most prized possessions is her camera, which she carries with her, no matter what is going on. Regardless of whether she’s in danger, or if she’s just taking a small stroll with her Pokemon, Iris is quick to take a photo of whatever is going on, and she’s quite talented at it too.
As far as her attitude itself, Iris knows how to change it depending on whom she speaks to. Despite the fact that she tries to come of as sophisticated and educated, she enjoys being childish from time to time, and likes to cut back on stress by playing games and particularly enjoys playing MMORPGs. On the other hand, when push comes to shove, and she--or someone--is in danger, her seriousness and stoic ways of dealing with hectic situations are impressive indeed.
When it comes to training Pokemon, Iris is decent at it. While her dreams and aspirations don't revolve around being the best trainer there ever was, Iris still befriended a few of these majestic creatures when she was younger. The first three Pokemon she caught (and the Seel egg her parents gave her) are her best friends, having grown together. Now, the four are fully grown, but her training is far from over. She understands that she's not the best trainer ever, and while she has no interest in becoming that, it still fills her with pride to see her prized Pokemon grow more and more each day, so she keeps training, to further grow her already strong bond with the Pokemon she's had since her childhood.

HISTORY --- Iris Tidmore was born in a small farm in Sinnoh, just outside Solaceon Town. Her family consisted mostly of ranchers, farmers, and breeders. As a small child, she spent some time helping her family maintain the farm, and spent a great amount of her time reading books on agriculture to help out more efficiently.
Even as a child, Iris's pursuit of knowledge was evident, she always enjoyed reading books, a trait that has passed on to her for her whole existance. She loved reading about any subject, but what she loved most was putting her knowledge to work, and getting any hands-on experience or training that she could.
Iris never received much of a formal education. Most of her vast knowledge came from her own self-determination and willpower, not to mention a barrage of books. It wasn't until she was much older that she received any formal education, and even then, she deemed it too slow and below her level. She had gotten too used to her self-teaching, it got to the point that only Iris could teach Iris.
Out of the many subjects she tried learning, nothing captivated Iris more than Journalism. Armed with a camera, and a notepad, Iris became a small time, slightly unsuccessful reporter in Jubilife City when she was 17. There, she met several important figures in the Sinnoh media, and the inspiration for her freelance work began.
The following year, and the three years after that were Iris’s most successful years, writing hundreds of important stories for several publications from Sinnoh, to Hoenn, to even Unova. Of course, her success only lasted as long as she avoided writer’s block.
Going from almost 150 excellent stories a year, Iris’s muse declined more and more. Overworked, and undermused, the poor reporter could barely give out less than 10 mediocre stories in what progressed in the current year, which in the freelance world, generally means you’re going to starve.
Trying to shake off her bugs, and get rid of her kinks, Iris decided to take a vacation to Johto. Hearing about the incidents in Kanto, and the rise of the Rockets, Iris couldn’t believe her eyes.
She had found the inspiration for her next story. Sneaking into Kanto would be the least of her worries. She's infiltrated a lot worse places.
